The Organization for Economic Co-Operation and Development, in conjunction with the University of
Maryland, is convening a conference on European perspectives on poverty and inequality, to be held in Paris on
March 16-17. The purpose of the conference is to bring together leading scholars whose research focuses on
measures of poverty and inequality along with their uses in policy. The papers presented at the conference
will be published by Oxford University Press in an edited volume. The volume is intended to provide a high
level reflection of the European perspective on measures of poverty and inequality and their uses in a policy
context for academic audiences interested in the topic.
